The Contest, Regret! and Windstorm nominated for EFA Young Audience Award.
The European Film Academy’s commitment to bonding European cinema to the youngest audiences continues this year. The third edition of the EFA Young Audience Award has unveiled its three nominees: Martin Miehe-Renard’s The Contest (Denmark), Dave Schram’s Regret! (the Netherlands) and Katja von Garnier’s Windstorm (Germany).
The prize is to be awarded by an audience of 12- to 14-year-olds, straight after the screenings of the three films across 17 European cities during the Young Audience Film Day on 4 May.
The young audience will judge The Contest’s approach to the dreams of a child singer,Regret!’s depiction of the consequences of school bullying, and Windstorm’s story of a girl and her horse. Each screening’s jury speaker will transmit the voting results to Erfurt (Germany) via video link, where the winner will be announced at an award ceremony streamed live on their website.
The European Film Academy Young Audience Award is organised and presented by the European Film Academy and EFA Productions, with the support of the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM).
